With just a few weeks before we close the Annual Fund campaign for the 2011-2012 school year, we are encouraging and asking those parents who have not donated, to please consider doing so. All donations are welcomed and gratefully received. To date 54% of our parents have made a donation to the Annual Fund.
As we begin to look forward to the 2012-2013 school year and beyond, there are certain opportunities and challenges that we will face as we grow. The spirit of philanthropy in independent schools is as old as the concept of school itself. Most independent schools have annual fund campaigns to bridge the gap between tuition and operating costs for the school – All Saints is no different. We strive to keep tuition low, but competitive; we strive to make the school affordable to those promising students who would like an All Saints education but do not have the financial means to attend; we strive to have the best teachers teach your children; we strive to incorporate state-of-the-art technology into our classrooms; and we strive to maintain safe and productive facilities to accommodate our current and future needs. None of our successes would have been possible without the support of our families, and our future successes are equally dependent on our shared commitment and cooperation.
We have received 100% participation from our dedicated board, and I am delighted to report that 80% of our faculty and staff have made contributions to the Annual Fund this year. Although I was reluctant to ask teachers and staff for a contribution because they already give so much of themselves, I’m overwhelmed by the positive response. Their investment in the school and our shared future is nothing short of inspiring. In a similar fashion we are trying to broaden our reach beyond the school community into the wider Hoboken community, but the backbone of support has always been and will continue to be our parents. So, it is in that same vein that I ask that you consider giving a little bit more so that we can end the school year stronger than we started, and so that the next school year can be even more successful than this one. Please help us inch toward greater parental participation in the Annual Fund. Remember that no gift is too small.
