Making sure that each of our graduating eighth graders has a curiosity for learning and an understanding of one’s self and the world is of utmost importance to us. We also view the selection and transition into high school as a part of our role in offering guidance to our Middle School students. The process begins in the Seventh Grade as the High School Placement team meets with families to discuss the many options available to graduating students. Students also begin work on writing that prepares them for the application and interview process by encouraging thoughtful self-reflection. In Grade Eight, students continue the conversation about high school in their "Chat'n'Nibble" course with focus given to the many aspects of the process (student essays, graded writing samples, requests for recommendations, interviews, and school visits) as well as identifying a school that is the "right fit.”
