Our Mission & Philosophy

All Saints Episcopal Day School nurtures academic excellence and social responsibility for early childhood, elementary and middle school children through enriched experiences in an urban community.

At All Saints we inspire…

  • The discipline and integrity to be successful in school and in life;
  • An appreciation for the diversity and cultural wonder of urban life;
  • A responsibility for this planet and gratitude for its beauty;
  • A developed sense of one’s own spirituality through social action and service; and
  • A sincere love of learning.

  • Provide an excellent education for children ages three years through Eighth Grade in a school that is caring, safe and academically stimulating.  The school guides its students in creating a life-long love of learning by nurturing creativity, enthusiasm and curiosity.
  • Utilize an interdisciplinary curriculum composed of core subjects as well as art, music, dance, drama, physical education, health and spirituality that teaches traditional subjects in relation to one another and the community.  Children are challenged individually to achieve their academic potential while participating as members of a class and developing skills related to leadership and citizenship.
  • Enhance children’s natural curiosity and abilities through experientially-based practices and programs.  All Saints celebrates city life, and uses the unique resources of our urban community to enhance learning.  The school provides opportunities for children and families to participate in service projects in their community.  As a result, our students appreciate the cultural diversity of their school, their city and their world.
  • Expose children to the world’s religious traditions to promote an understanding and appreciation of how these traditions enrich our human family.
  • Teach important presentation and speaking skills which students will need to be successful in their academic career and in their future professions.
  • Promote a capacity for self-reflection and self-awareness to support an understanding of oneself as an individual and in relationship to others in community.
  • Believe that the future of our planet will be one of our children’s greatest challenges.  The school emphasizes responsibility and gratitude for the earth and all living things.
  • Nurture children as complete human beings and affirm that the physical, the intellectual and the spiritual are crucial in children’s development.  We encourage children to give of themselves to others, especially to the less fortunate, and to respect others’ beliefs no matter how different from their own.
  • Encourage parents to share in the work, education and play of their children by attending our enrichment programs and educational activities.  Family members are an integral part of our school’s success and will share in the joys of watching children learn and succeed.
  • Maintain a commitment to continual growth and renewal for us as parents and teachers, and as a school community.
